A Passionate Embrace at the Bus Stop

via
New York Times recently featured a lovely poem by Barbara Nahmias and I had to share it with you. Its simplicity drew me in as well as the vivid picture it paints.

Two elderly people
Passionately
Kiss each other
Goodbye
He nearly drops his cane
She giggles
Like a schoolgirl
Then they
Hesitantly part
It seems to me
They are
The richest people
Alive

  18. Hi there,

Thanks for posting my poem and for all the sweet comments! I actually am a 60-year old, very much in love- so I was touched when I witnessed this scene at the bus stop of 86th and York Ave. Long live love!
