Pixie Cuts & Backwards Necklaces

The Academy Awards are always filled with glamour, and this year was no exception. While dresses and designer names were the talk of the internet during & after the show, the most chat-worthy sightings to me had little to do with fabrics or prestige. It was pixie cuts and backwards necklaces that kept my attention.

With the cut cropping up more and more, 2013 is definitely the year of the pixie. Nominees for best pixie include Hallie Berry (a staple on the short-hair scene) and Anne Hathaway, with the winning look going to stunning Charlize Theron.

As for the backwards necklace - Jennifer Lawrence wore this look perfectly and, in my opinion, was one of the best dressed of the evening. I loved how simple this necklace presented in the front, helping to show off her dress, while the long drape in the back added an elegant twist. While I didn't love Anne's dress {Did you hear there was a @HathawayNipple Twitter account created? Yikes.} I did love her statement necklace and how the back helped to bring emphasis to the v-shape of her dress line.

What was your favorite look or trend from the Oscars?

  1. I'm a long hair girl myself, but those that can rock the pixie sure do it well.

  10. I love all of the pixies so much! (Charlize was also my favorite of the night.) But I don't get the backward necklace trend. I'm not much of a long necklace girl anyway so maybe that's part of it?

  20. I can tell you right now I would be hideous if I cut my hair like this...and I think my husband would divorce me bc we'd have the same 'do. And while Charlize looks phenom, I'm not so sure Anne should keep her hair that short :-/ I like the idea of these backward necklaces!!

  31. I'm loving the pixie cuts too. My friend saw Charlize Theron at a restaurant in LA (their tables were close to each other outside), and she said that she was just as gorgeous in person as she is on tv and in movies.
