Eco-Friendly Spring Cleaning

In a normal, ideal world spring would be here by now. I even recall two years ago when it was 80 degrees (80 degrees!) on St. Patty's Day, but alas, here we are under a week away from March 17 immersed in a never-ending winter wonderland. #Chiberia has a clutch grip on that polar vortex and doesn't seem to want to let go. (I feel like that's all I talk about on this blog, but it's seriously getting to me so just ignore my repetition.)

On the plus side, winter's longevity means we can all push back spring cleaning for a few weeks! Round of applause, anyone? << Crickets >> Okay, yeah, I'd rather have spring too, but work with me here. How about we appease both winter and spring with the preparation of spring cleaning? I know you're excited.

A few Chicago bloggers and I have teamed up with Refinery 29 to offer 7 easy DIY home cleaning products for you to scrub without all those chemicals-whose-names-you-can't-pronounce blanketing your home. My suggestion was for one we all love most: Clothes. Did you expect anything different? Swing by to check it out!

  1. If you are looking for a funny book about cleaning, I would highly recommend "My Boyfriend Barfed in My Handbag: Questions You Can't Ask Martha." Just a hilarious way to learn about cleaning your house.

  4. Spring is the perfect time to clean. Same thing as last year, we really need to work hard for that but don't forget also to enjoy while cleaning.
