The air is crisp but still comfortable, the sun shines sans humidity, and memories of a summer well spent are fresh on your mind as you prepare for shorter days and longer nights. The transition time of summer to fall during September is the absolute best time to dress. You can still get away with skirts and no tights, while the cooling temperatures mean that layers are once again top of mind. Also, you're no longer living in fear of sweating through your shirt when you go outside, so there's that. [Insert thumbs up sign here]
With Chicago's moody behavior lately, it was the high 50's the other week, which was actually a nice preview to upcoming months. To accommodate, I paired my favorite leather jacket with a red mini-skirt and floral blouse to go to the Godiva event, and felt pretty darn fabulous. There's just something about a pop of color mixed with well-placed staples. It's outfits like these that make the cooling breeze so much fun with fashion.
